Lotus Esprit cars

In 1977’s The Spy Who Loved Me featuring Roger Moore, the Lotus Esprit became one of Q’s most impressive sportscar mods. In a long chase scene between 007 and the infamous Bond-villain Jaws, Bond’s Lotus Esprit makes a cunning escape by transforming into a fully-diveable submarine. While a submersible version featuring that bikini blonde above are not available today, a similar Lotus Esprit could be originally purchased for around $16,800 at the dealer in 1977.

Last but certainly not least– the original Bond-mobile, the 1963 Aston Martin DB5. In the 1964 film Goldfinger, 007 was provided with a weaponized DB5 by Q Branch himself. Aston Martin, however, wasn’t so keen on the deal. After much negotiating, Aston Martin finally agreed to a product placement deal that made automotive history for the brand. The DB5 was the latest-and-greatest sportscar to be produced in the UK, initially selling for $13,000.

Unsold Cars Due To Global Recession

Automakers are facing trouble across the world due to global recession. Thousands of unsold cars are parked in factories and wharehouses waiting for delivery to customers and dealers.

Sales of new cars in the UK have slumped to a 12-year-low and production of cars at Honda in Swindon has been halted for a unprecedented four-month period because of the collapse in global sales and represents the longest continuous halt in production at any UK car plant. The announcement comes on a day when the EU’s Industry Commissioner Guenter Verheugen warned the outlook for the European car industry was ‘brutal’ and predicted not all European manufacturers would survive the crisis.

According to a contemporary issue of the magazine Road Test (June 1967), a "muscle car" is "exactly what the name implies. It is a product of the U.S. auto industry to adhere to the philosophy of having hot Rodder a small car and put a big engine in it [...] The Muscle Car is Charles Atlas kicking sand in the face of the 98 hp (73 kW) weak. "Author of Muscle Cars appointment is removed Peter Henshaw, promotes the muscle car was designed for speed in a straight line and did not have a chassis "sophisticated", "engineering integrity" or "quick look" of high-performance European cars

Mitsubishi GT Sport car

Mitsubishi GT Prototype Sport SUV
The prototype is packed with a host of new technologies, such as Idle Neutral Logic, which automatically shifts the transmission into neutral during vehicle standstill. Other highlights include improved performance and fuel economy from its more powerful 3.0-liter SOHC MIVEC V6 engine, and a Super-All-Wheel-Control System offering improved handling and control.
Despite the updates up front, it doesn’t look like the Outlander’s hind-quarter received any attention from Mitsubishi’s design department.
The Diamond white Outlander GT Prototype infuses performance and design inspiration from Mitsubishi's Lancer sport sedans and provides clear indicators of the future of Outlander.
A front grille design inspired by the Lancer Evolution's "jet fighter" look is clearly in play on the Outlander GT Prototype, which sports complementary new design elements, such as a reshaped front bumper, side mirrors, fenders and hood. Reshaped Bi-Xenon HID headlamps, a new rear bumper and side sills, plus a bold polished finish on the already standard aluminum roof panel accentuate the sporty appeal. It reengages at the slightest lift of the foot off the brake pedal, thereby providing instantaneous response.
The aluminum roof gets a polished finished for the show car, but don't expect to see anything like it on a production version.
