Even nostalgic throwback Morgan put on a good show this year in Geneva, displaying seven cars (okay, six-and-a-half—one was a cutaway) and unveiling the Aero 8 GT3, one of just three coupes purpose-built to compete in this season's FIA Championship (commencing May 6 at Silverstone).
Relying on a dry sump’d version of BMW’s 5.0-lite V-8 giving 420 brake horsepower, the GT3 is built on the Aero 8’s aluminum chassis and has a six-speed Hollinger sequential gearbox. The unusual-looking racer is clad in lightweight carbon composite panels.
There was a surprising amount of fuss being made over the GT3 at the stand, which leads us to wonder if the racer shown here will spawn a toned-down small-run production version at some point.
